This purse design is based on a doodle I had been making in the margin of my class notes for months. It's a very simple design, but it has power -- it reminds me of a kimono, or a simple origami sculpture. In keeping with that, the fringe is also very simple, just a twisted bugle bead hanging from each point. The strap is a bit more lush, with three twisted strands of Delicas interspersed with twisted bugle beads.
This loomed purse was shaped using the technique given in the instructions for Yoshie Nakashin and Yoko Hiroe's "Golden Elegance," published in Beaded Amulet Purses by Nicolette Stessin. It is closed with a 3-bead button and a loop. I used matte black and matte silver Delicas, along with 14 mm matte black twisted bugle beads.
