It took me over two years to finish this bag. I started it just before the 1997 holiday season, and finished weaving it in a month or so. Then it languished for months at a time while I figured out how to put it together, what to do with the edges, what to do for a strap.... I finally finished it in the spring of 1999.
The bag was worked in gourd stitch, in the round. The top and bottom triangles were added afterward. There is a shallow gusset between the front and the back, although you can't really see it because of the edging. Along both sides there is kinky fringe with sprigs of holly. The strap is a simple 3-strand braid.
